2006 - 2007 Training Schedule

 

During the summer and off-seasons, CJ trains with Sean Wade.  This summer CJ trained under his tutelage and saw incredible improvements in his times.

Sean Wade operates The Kenyan Way.  Sean, a native of New Zealand, has been coaching since 1998. He competed internationally for 10 years as a professional runner. His achievements include the 1996 Olympic marathon, a personal best marathon of 2hr. 10 min, winning the 2003 Houston marathon, a top five finisher in six Houston marathon appearances. He holds course records in many Houston races including Conoco 10K, Rockets Run, Memorial City 5K, HBU Hustle, Baytown Heat Wave 5 Miler, Rudy T. Twilight Run and Houston Dome Run 10K. Sean's other personal bests are mile-4:02, 5K-13:40, 10K-28:02 and half marathon-1:03:46. He is currently one of the fastest master runners in the world.

During the school Cross Country season, CJ trains with Seven Lakes High School under Marvin Rathke.

Coach Marvin Rathke has 14 years of track coaching experience which has produced  a state champion and several regional qualifiers. He was the Head Cross Country and Girls Track at numerous high schools in the state of Texas. Coach Rathke’s other accomplishments include 15 years as a UIL Texas State Meet track official, and involvement in the Interscholastic Track and Cross Country Coaches Associations of Texas. He also attended college at Baylor and Angelo State University earning a  Football Scholarship. During high school, Coach Rathke was a Regional Qualifier 2 years and State Meet Qualifier 1 year in hurdles.

 

During the school Track season, CJ trains with Seven Lakes High School under the Scott Kenney.

Coach Scott Kenney ran  high school cross country and track  at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA. He then went on to  run 4 years of varsity collegiate cross country and track, earning Academic All-American honors. For the past 6 years, Coach Kenney has been the boys’ & girls’ distance coach at Beck Junior High, assisting a number of athletes to amazing accomplishments. He has coached at the high school level producing a number of state and regional qualifiers in cross country & track & field.
